Our Approach

​At Nichols-Bethel, we believe children learn best through play, curiosity and exploration.
Our curriculum follows Maryland’s Early Learning Standards and focuses on the “whole child” - helping students grow intellectually, socially and spiritually. Through hands-on activities, stories, music and creative play, children gain independence, confidence and a lifelong love of learning.

My family has had such a wonderful experience at Nichols-Bethel Preschool! One of our sons graduated a couple years ago and our younger one is currently enrolled. I’ve also been blessed to spend time in the classroom myself, and it’s truly an amazing, faith-filled program where the love of Jesus is at the center of everything they do. Ms. Jen and Ms. Deborah care deeply for each child. The classroom is full of joy, structure, and purpose—where kids learn to help, work together, and grow in confidence, kindness, and faith. Lessons are creative and engaging, with meaningful artwork, hands-on science experiments, and activities that connect beautifully to the seasons, holidays, and our world. The children enjoy plenty of time for play and movement, and the field trips and class parties are always such fun highlights. The program is so well-organized and thoughtfully planned, with sweet surprises throughout the year as well. Both of our boys began learning how to read during their time at Nichols-Bethel, which is such a joy to watch. Our older son was incredibly well-prepared for kindergarten—academically, socially, and emotionally—and we are so thankful for the foundation this preschool has given both of our children.
